Hall Build – Week 45

Well we knew storm Boelo was coming, so TRF battened down everything they could at the end of last week and hoped for the best… It wasn’t great timing, as the roof membranes were on but not yet fully boarded over. Fortunately, the majority of the membrane sheets held, with only the sheets at the apex of roof coming loose. Apart from a few blown down site fences panels, everything held strong!

A brief tidy up, and back to work this week – we have some actual roof on! It’s all at the back and still covered in protective film for the moment, but it looks extremely smart! If you were passing the green at the right time early this week, you may have witnessed the spectacle of nearly two tons of zinc roofing being craned up and onto the (slightly wobbly but perfectly safe..!) scaffolding!

At the same time, but at ground level, the shed is progressing. After missing the main concrete pour of the hall, it has now been poured by hand and expertly smoothed by the TRF guys! This will be our bike and bin stored in just a few months…!
