Hall Build – Week 37

Digger and dumper back on site this week. Not the great big ones we had at the start to do the main excavations, but smaller ones that fit through the gaps in the wall to start tidying up some of the rough ground. We now have the heating pipe trenches filled around where the shed building will be, and a nice flat platform in front of the main building, where our patio will lead down to the front steps. Next step for the heavy machines is to dig out the foundation trenches for the shed.

Work continues on the roof beams. We now have a complete set of beams to the rear, including frames for our Velux windows. The TRF guys have now got the trickier job ahead of the beams on the front side. Our fancy angled front elevation means that the front end of each beam get higher, and the beams get shorter as they move towards the centre. Lots of measuring, maths, and precision cuts required!
